Stan Bharti, Msc, P.Eng, Chairman

Mr. Bharti is a business consultant and a professional mining engineer with more than 25 years experience in business, management, operations, public markets, and finance. Mr. Bharti has been the President of Forbes & Manhattan, Inc., a private merchant bank operating in Canada, the United States and Western Europe, since July 2001. Previously from June 2005 to September 2005, Mr. Bharti was the President of Consolidated Thompson-Lundmark Gold Mines Ltd. and its Chief Executive Officer since June 2005. Earlier from August 2002 to October 2004, Mr. Bharti was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Desert Sun Mining Corp. He is the Chairman and Director of many other publicly listed junior mining companies.

James H. Coleman, L.L.B., B.B.A., Deputy Chairman / Director

Mr. Coleman is a Senior Partner and former Chairman of Macleod Dixon, Barristers & Solicitors. He has extensive experience in international law with a focus on the energy and resource sectors in addition to corporate finance, banking and securities. He is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, has authored numerous legal papers on resource law and banking, and has chaired various independent committees of public companies relating to corporate governance and securities matters.

George Faught, Director

Mr. Faught is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of senior management experience. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer of a number of publicly traded companies in the natural resource, financial services and pharmaceutical industries.

Bruce Humphrey, Director

Mr. Humphrey is a mining engineer with 30 years experience in the mining industry. He has worked for several major mining companies and mining contractors in a variety of engineering, operations and executive management positions.

Guy Chartier, Director

Mr. Chartier is a multilingual executive based in Montreal, Quebec. He is the founder and CEO of Amero Capital Inc. that provides strategic and transactional consulting and management services to a portfolio of companies on four continents. These have included assisting in identifying acquisition opportunities and negotiating and structuring the Areva reverse takeover of La Mancha Resources, Gexel Telecom acquisitions, Wilton Properties' development opportunities in the Republic of Cuba, and the Senneville Hotel Group resort development projects.

Leonard Harris, P. Eng., Director

Mr. Harris’ experience in the mining industry spans over five decades across continents. Known particularly for his contributions to the gold mining industry in Latin America, he has held several prominent positions with major gold companies there and has chaired industry standards organizations such as the Mining Task Force of the Chamber of the Americas and the International Committee of the SME. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the Gold Medal from the Mining & Metallurgical Society of America, the Medal of Merit from the American Hall of Fame and Engineer of the Year award from the Peruvian Society of Engineers.


Pierre Pettigrew

The Honourable Pierre Pettigrew has had a distinguished career in both public and private sectors.  From January 1996 to February 2006, he served as a Member of Parliament where he led a number of senior government departments in successive federal Canadian governments.  Among other positions, he has served Canada as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister for International Trade and the Minister for International Cooperation.  Hon. Pettigrew now works with Deloitte & Touche LLP in the role of Executive Advisor, International.  Prior to entering national politics, Pierre Pettigrew was the Vice President of Samson Belair Deloitte & Touche International in Montréal, where he acted as an international business consultant.  He is also a director of a number of other reporting issuers.

 

Peter Tagliamonte, P.Eng, MBA, President and CEO, Director

Mr. Tagliamonte is a professional mining engineer and also holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, at the University of Western Ontario.  He is the former President and CEO of Central Sun Mining and Chief Operating Officer of Desert Sun Mining where he developed the Jacobina Mine in Brazil into a 4,200-tonne-per-day mining operation.  Mr. Tagliamonte has over 25 years of progressive managerial experience building and operating mines worldwide, notably in Central and South America.  In 2005, he received the Mining Journal's "Mine Manager of the Year" award in recognition for his work in the mining sector.
